Everyone that ends up in natural health seems to have a story. In my mid 20’s, I struggled with significant pregnancy-related difficulties followed by some other serious health challenges that left my husband and me taking a hard look at how we were (or were not) supporting our health. Through prayer and by overhauling our overall mindset, we were able to make drastic changes in our health.

As time progressed, I earned a number of certifications and ultimately my Master Herbalist and Naturopath degrees and worked with clients while living in Leawood, Kansas. However, we began to feel God prompting us to take the plunge into organic farming, to grow the herbs ourselves and teach more people how to make positive changes in their lives.

In 2014, we were blessed with the opportunity to transition from suburban life to country living in Paola, KS. It definitely wasn't easy but with the love and support of dear family, friends and mentors, we were able to narrow our focus and grow our little family farm. We had a variety of chickens, ducks, turkeys and geese over the years, kept bees, grew about 175 different medicinal herbs and cultivated an acre of certified organic elderberries. In addition, we also hosted many events, taught numerous classes and provided a variety of herbal and honey products. It was certainly challenging at times, but fulfilling in ways we could have never imagined!

During that time, I learned many things, but hands down, the most important was just how crucial the mind is when it comes to healing. We are spirit, soul (mind), and body. If we focus solely on treating the physical body, we neglect two-thirds of the person, which is essential for true healing. I experienced this firsthand while recovering from a severe case of mold toxicity.

In fact, I believe in this concept so strongly that I became a certified Christian brain rewiring coach. This simply means that I can teach you powerful tools and coach you through the process of creating new thought patterns. By doing so, you can stop your body from reacting negatively and instead create an environment where healing can truly take place.

While we absolutely loved the farm, I began to realize that all my experience was preparing me for the next phase of life. As much as I wanted to do ‘everything’, realistically, I needed to make some significant changes to allow more time for consulting, speaking and fulfilling my dream of writing books. In 2023, we handed the farm over to a wonderful new family and moved with our adult children to Chattanooga, Tennessee to experience all that nature has to offer in the area.

I remain committed to supporting local, sustainable farmers and my love and passion continues to be teaching others from a Christian perspective how to live healthier, more holistic lives. I invite you to join this journey with me as we navigate this world to radically change the health of our local communities!
